The A1 Home is specifically designed to be lightweight, portable, space saving and vertically stackable. In fact, 3 A1 indoor rowing machines can be stored vertically in the same amount space as one indoor cycling bike!

The patented WaterFlyWheel has been designed to emulate the exact dynamics of a boat moving across the water, and creates a wave-like sound in class that is engaging, mesmerizing and feels like the real thing!

The unique geometry of the A1 Home makes it easy to row with good technique, even for a beginner rower, and the quality construction provides a natural, fluid connection with every stroke.

The WaterFlywheel varies resistance proportional to the user's intensity. The relationship between resistance and speed varies according 'the rule of cubes' - doubling the speed requires an eight fold increase in power . The WaterFlywheel does not apply resistance to you, you apply work to it; you are the engine, not the machine. By the 'rule of cubes', the amount of work you apply dictates the speed at which you row.

The WaterFlywheel uses a relatively slow moving heavy mass to generate a smooth uniform load throughout the stroke. Air resistance machines, by comparison, tend to be jerky, jarring, and uneven; fading as the resistance is overcome. The WaterFlywheel creates a fluid connection between rower and water using a simple immersed paddle. There is no solid mechanical connection only the contact between the paddle face and the water dampening out any mechanical feel.
